Obituary

Bobby Melton, born June 13, 1964, in Woodbury, Tennessee, passed away on September 1, 2026.

He will be remembered with love by those closest to him, especially his wife, Beth Melton, who shared his life and stood beside him with devotion. He is also survived by his mother, JoHelen Hayes; his brother, Donnie Melton; his sister, Diane Lanius, and her husband, Mike; and his stepchildren, Matthew Williams, Michael Williams, and Ashley Williams. Bobby also leaves behind to cherish his memory this beloved dog Molly, one niece and nephew, one great niece and great nephew, seven grandkids and 3 great grandchildren. Their lives were touched by his presence, and his memory will remain a lasting part of their days. 

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Mack Melton; his brother, Michael Melton; and his son, Nathan Melton. Their names remain forever joined with his in the story of a family bound by love, remembrance, and enduring connection.

Bobby enjoyed fishing, spending time with friends and family and grilling.  Bobby was an outgoing and free spirit who never met a stranger.  His kindness and laughter will be deeply missed.  

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Jefferson Pike Church of Christ, 218 Jefferson Pike, La Vergne, TN 37086. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place afterward at 1:15 p.m. at Mapleview Cemetery, 411 Maple St, Smyrna, TN 37167.

As those who knew Bobby reflect on his life, they will carry forward the love of family, the weight of shared memories, and the quiet mark he left on the hearts of those around him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn him.
