Corey Adam
Eiler
June 14, 1984 – July 25, 2022
Corey Adam Eiler, age 38, of Hurdland, MO was born June 14, 1984 in Kirksville, MO. He passed away unexpectedly on Monday July 25, 2022 in Nashville, TN.
Corey was a fun-loving guy who always marched to the beat of his own drum, regardless of what others thought. Although he wanted people to think he was tough and unfeeling, he was a very loving, compassionate person. He recently got kicked out of the hotel in Tennessee where he was living because he was letting homeless people stay there with him. Since this was against the rules, he was warned against allowing them to stay there. He didn't stop after being warned so management asked him why he kept doing it and he said, because they don't have anywhere to stay and I feel bad for them. He continued to help these people and was eventually asked to leave the hotel. That's just the kind of guy he was.
Corey was preceded in death by his grandmother, Neva Maltbie, grandmother, Darlene Downen, great grandmother, Hilda Harrelson, and stepmother, Margaret Downen.
He is survived by his son, Dayton Eiler, daughter, Emmalee Ayers, mother, Joyce (James) Sutton, father, Tracy Downen, dad, Terry Eiler, grandfather, Earl Maltbie Jr., brothers, Terry (Pam) Eiler Jr., Curtis (Alexis) Sutton, and Albert Sutton, sister, Laura (Gerald) McClellan, half-sister, Carrie Swaim, half-brother, Jacob Downen, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
