Daniel Clayton
Pagan
February 11, 1932 – November 30, 2023
Daniel (Dan) Pagan, 91, passed peacefully November 30,2003.
Preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Martha, a daughter Lynn Bishop, his parents James and Iola Pagan(Owensboro, Ky.) brother Bobby and sisters, Julia and Wanda.
Upon completing his education, he joined the United States Air Force, serving 4 years during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He often spoke of his transport overseas via the USS Mitchell and his assigned duties while in Korea working the flight line.
Upon returning home, he married the love of his life and relocated to Tennessee where he served as a Food Service Service Director with ARA for 25 years. After retiring, he rekindled the second love of his life which was woodworking. This love catapulted him into a new career spanning 4 decades. His later retirement from woodworking came in 2016.
It was a bittersweet day when we began the task of clearing out his shop. Clipboards with all of his hand drawn patterns for furniture adorned the walls. Dimensions and phone numbers written on other walls, business cards tacked all around. The scents of well oiled machines, stain, lacquer, oak wood, sawdust and his wood burning stove permeated the air. Such beautifully handcrafted china cabinets, dining sets, blanket chests, bookcases and countless other custom works which were sold across many states. To those lucky enough to own one of his creations, we hope they are as priceless to you as he was to us.
Danny Pagan, Jr. (Cindy) Debbie Robinson (Gary) Scott Pagan (Meagan)
