It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dorothy Norman Kim, affectionately known as "Dotty," who left us on June 29, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on August 31, 1949, in Nashville, Tennessee, Dotty graced this world with her presence for nearly three-quarters of a century.
Dotty was the beloved daughter of Jane Lashlee and Haywood Norman III, Throughout her life, she exemplified love and kindness, traits that endeared her to everyone she met. Her family was her world, and she was a devoted mother to her children, Tammy Taylor (John) and James Stansberry Jr. She took immense pride in being a grandmother to three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren, finding joy in each precious moment she spent with them. She is also survived by her brother, Haywood Norman IV.
Dotty was preceded in death by her mother, her sister Beth, Billy, and Charlie, and her cherished grandson, Stephen. The loss of these loved ones has left an indelible mark on her heart, yet she carried their memory with her throughout her life.
As we remember Dotty, we reflect on the countless lives she touched. She was loved by so many, and her warm spirit radiated wherever she went. Though she had her share of challenges, her resilience and unwavering positivity shone brightly, inspiring all who knew her.
Her final days were spent in Hartsville, Tennessee, a place she called home, surrounded by her loving family who provided comfort and support. Dotty's legacy is one of love, strength, and the importance of family bonds that will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In this time of grief, we encourage all those who had the honor of knowing Dotty to cherish the memories shared and the love she imparted. She may have left this earth, but her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Dotty. Your legacy of love will never be forgotten.
