Starts at 5:00 pm
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude, we announce the passing of Felicitas Corazao, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Felicitas passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by her loving family. Her life was a testament to warmth, humor, and enduring love.
Born on May 25, 1950, in the vibrant town of Ébano, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Felicitas was the beloved daughter of Jesus Leos Torres and Ubalda Medellin de Leos. From her parents, she inherited a profound love for life and a nurturing spirit that she carried with her throughout her days.
Felicitas shared a devoted marriage with the late Charles Albert Corazao, who preceded her in death. Her children, D'Angelo Corazao, Edgar Jesus Mata, Karina Elizabeth Mata Leos, Yanet Ivon Mata Leos, and Joel A. Mata Leos, survive her, along with her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild joyously expected. Felicitas also leaves behind many beloved family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Felicitas had an extraordinary gift with plants. It seemed that nothing in her care ever died; in fact, she could take in plants that others thought were beyond saving and bring them back to life. She tended to them with patience and love, often speaking to them as if they were her babies. To her, they were not just plants — they were living things deserving of care, attention, and tenderness.
That same love carried into her cooking. She was known for her unforgettable tamales and salsa verde, dishes that brought people together and made every gathering feel special. Everyone misses her tamales — not only because they were delicious, but because of the love and dedication she poured into making them. She would stay up late into the night, carefully preparing them so they would be just right for the next day's event. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, hard work, laughter, and love, where family traditions were kept alive and shared with everyone lucky enough to sit at her table.
Full of life, Felicitas loved dancing, especially to mariachis. She took great pride in her home, keeping it beautifully clean and cared for, with every corner reflecting her love. Her great sense of humor and infectious laughter made her a joy to be around, and she had a way of making everyone feel lighter just by being near her. She had a radiant spirit that could be felt without needing to be spoken. Her social nature and warmth crossed language barriers, allowing her to befriend complete strangers with ease and grace.
Felicitas was a beacon of light, teaching those around her the importance of kindness, laughter, and love. Her spirit will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. We invite friends and family to join us in celebrating Felicitas's remarkable life at a memorial service on May 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Services will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, located at 1401 Lee Victory Parkway, Smyrna, TN 37167. Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Felicitas Corazao will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
