Franklin Roosevelt Waldron passed from this life to the next on April 22, 2024 in the presence of God and family. He was born January 23, 1937 to Sam Waldron and Mabel Johnson. Franklin was raised in La Vergne and after graduating Smyrna Highschool he joined the National Guard and went to work Glaspar. In 2000 he retired from Bridgestone after 27 years of service.
Franklin was a sports fan especially of the Tennessee Vols and an avid bowler. He loved to travel and traveled to such places as Alaska, Hawaii, and Europe, but his favorite place to go was the Great Smokey Mountains. When Franklin wasn't traveling, watching sports, or bowling, he loved spending time with family and especially his grandchildren and serving at his church Gilroy Church of Christ in Antioch.
Franklin was preceded to glory by his parents Sam and Mabel Waldron; brothers A.G. Waldron, J.W. Waldron, Samuel Douglas Waldron, Kenneth Gray Waldron, Lloyd Johnson Waldron, Melvin Clay Waldron; sisters Ruby Elizabeth Norris, Ellen Mildred Towns, Lela Wilma Williams, Christine Waldron, and Martha Marie Hayes.
Franklin is survived by his wife of 63 years Carolyn Waldron; son Danny Waldron (Dawn); daughter Cynthia Maddaloni (Angelo); brother, Cecil Vaught Waldron (Betty Gayle); sisters Ernestine Jones, Adrianna Pitts; grandchildren Nelson Maddaloni, Dean Waldron (Shelby), Seth Maddaloni (Natasha), Deyton Waldron (Lyndie), Danielle Waldron, great grandchildren Jamieson Edwards, Emmie Waldron, Collin Waldron, and, Cain Waldron
Visitation will be Thursday April 25, 2024 at Gilroy Church of Christ, 13126 Old Hickory Blvd, Antioch, TN 37013 from 5pm-8pm and 10am to 11 am on Friday April 26, 2024 with a funeral services to follow at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St Jude's Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
