Obituary

In Loving Memory of Gaarve Jr Mukunzi

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Gaarve Jr Mukunzi, who left this world far too soon at the tender age of nine. Born on October 26, 2017, in Murfreesboro, TN, Gaarve brought immense joy and warmth to everyone around him. He peacefully departed this life on November 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Gaarve was the cherished son of Jean Paul and Angelique Mukunzi. From a young age, he exhibited a remarkable enthusiasm for life and an infectious smile that could brighten the darkest of days. His love for collecting and playing with toy cars was well-known, and he had a particular fondness for Acuras, spending countless joyful hours lost in the imaginative world of his toy collection.

An adventurous soul, Gaarve adored outdoor activities, with swimming being one of his favorites. His laughter and exuberance were infectious, and he could often be found leading his cousins in playful explorations, embodying the leadership role he naturally assumed as the oldest grandchild in the United States. His cousins looked up to him with admiration, and he took his role as their guide and protector to heart.

Gaarve’s love for music was evident in the way he sang with his mother during church services, his sweet voice resonating with a purity that touched everyone who had the pleasure of hearing it. His compassionate nature and deep emotional intuition were apparent to all; he had a remarkable ability to sense the feelings of those around him and was always a source of comfort and peace.

With a heart as big as his smile, Gaarve stood firmly for justice and fairness. He was a peacemaker, promoting harmony wherever he went. His devotion to his family was boundless, and he shared an especially close bond with his nieces and nephews, who adored him dearly.

A service to celebrate Gaarve’s life will be held on November 6, 2026, around 1 PM All Saints Episcopal Church, located at 1401 Lee Victory Parkway, Smyrna, TN 37167. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are welcome to join us as we honor and remember the beautiful life of Gaarve Jr Mukunzi. Visitation will start at 11 AM prior to the service. Burial at Mapleview Cemetery will follow the funeral service around 3 PM located at 411 Maple St, Smyrna, TN 37167.

Though his time with us was short, the impact of Gaarve’s life will be felt for years to come. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Gaarve. You are forever in our hearts.
