He was born as Harry Eugene Davis, but was known by many names. Dad or Daddy to his 6 children. He was known as Bubba to family and friends. Bubba was a sleeveless shirt, horseshoe throwing, and joke telling type of guy. He was known by Gene and even Uncle Gene to a few special ones and Brother Davis to those who shared in his faith. His bonus son called him Gene but loved him like a dad and treated him as a dear friend. Fishing was one of the loves they shared. He was even nicknamed Cowboy by those young and old that shared the love of bowling. His love of a Stetson earned him that name. He was known as "Ganpa" to his 15 grandkids and great grandkids. He shared the love of bowling, music, football, NASCAR, horse racing, Bigfoot, fishing, whistling, jokes and letting them be silly and being just as silly with them! The last important name was Sweetheart to his Babe. He carried her in his wallet and by his side for 43 years. She shared all of the memories that earned him the many names.
His love of peppers, hot sauces, cooking, cooking shows, music and especially the Bee Gees will be remembered and carried on by the many who loved, The Man With Many Names."
