Obituary

Harry Dale Pack Sr., born December 13, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on May 9, 2026, in Estill Springs, Tennessee. He was a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and community member whose vibrant spirit and generous heart left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Dale’s life was marked by a youthful exuberance and a free spirit that defined his approach to life. He was known for his warm laughter and quick wit, always ready with a joke to brighten the day. A man deeply devoted to his faith, Dale was a steadfast servant to his Lord, embodying compassion and kindness in every interaction. He held a special place in his heart for those struggling with addiction, offering support and understanding without hesitation.

His passions were many and reflected his lively nature. Music was a great joy to Dale; he had a fondness for classics such as "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, "Are the Good Times Really Over" by Merle Haggard, and "Smooth" by Santana. Sports also played a significant role in his life, particularly his love of University of Tennessee football and baseball. Dale’s enthusiasm for coaching baseball showcased his dedication not only to the sport but also to mentoring young players. Evenings were often spent enjoying friendly games of pool and darts, activities he cherished to share with family and friends.

Dale’s bond with his family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his ex-wife, Sherry Pack, and their children: Amanda Pack Mathers, Harry Dale Pack Jr. (Bo), and Tina Anderson-Himmelsbach. He took immense pride and joy in his grandchildren—Garrett Walling, Atalie Walling, Philip Duemonbreun, and Justin Nixon—who brought light and happiness into his later years. Dale’s warmth extended to his siblings, Sandy Smith, Wayne Pack, and Sherrie Pack Patton, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and mutual affection.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wesley Pack and Alice Inez Hazelwood Pack, as well as his sibling, Judy Pack Carroll. Their memories remain an enduring part of Dale’s story and legacy.

Harry Dale Pack Sr. will be remembered as a devoted father, a compassionate friend, and a man who embraced life with open arms and a joyful heart. His spirit, generosity, and laughter remain indelibly etched in the hearts of those who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
