Howard Irving White Jr., 83, was called home to our lord on August 12, 2022 at Ascension
Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee.

Howard was born April 4, 1939 in Trenton, NJ to Howard Irving White Sr. and Margaret Myers
Peck White, who preceded him in death.

He served in the United States Army, 101st Airborne
Division, and graduated from Austin Peay University.
On September 19th, 1959, Howard married the love of his life, Gayla Sue (Heflin) White, in
Dover, TN and they enjoyed 62 years of love and companionship. Together they raised four
children, primarily in Clermont, Florida moving back to the Mt. Juliet area in 1988.
Howard was a member of Priest Lake Christian Fellowship. His greatest joy was his wife and his
family. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends, and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Gayla, his children, Sherie Cartwright (Tommy) of Smyrna, Scott
White (Debbie) Clermont, FL, Brian White, Nashville, TN, and Alan White (Lucy) College Grove,
TN, eight grandchildren, Allison, Anna, Maggie, Austin, Casey, Shelby, Hank, and Shepard, and
five great-grandchildren, Bristol, Elijah, Micah, Levi, and was blessed to hear of the most recent
member of the family, Kassandra, born August 9th, 2022.

Celebration of Life for Howard will be held at Priest Lake Christian Fellowship, Antioch, TN at
1:00 pm on Saturday, August 20th, 2022. Visitation with family at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers
donations can be made to Priest Lake Christian Fellowship.
