It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jorge Iván Rodríguez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend, who left us on January 1, 2025, at the age of 50. Jorge was born on April 23, 1974, in San Luis, Potosí, Mexico, and he spent a vibrant life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. He resided in La Vergne, Tennessee, where he built a warm home filled with cherished memories.

Jorge is survived by his devoted wife, Serina Rodriguez, married February 28 2013; daughters Citlalic Rodriguez, Ava Rodriguez, Lesly Martinez; son Brandon Arriaga; stepchildren Michael Swinton,  Adrianne Bowden (Alyssa Bowden),and a host of beloved family members and friends in the United States and in Mexico. He was also the proud grandfather of  Denver Rodriguez who brought him immeasurable joy.

Jorge was a protective brother to his sister Martha Olvera and his brothers: Javier Olvera (Joanne), Issac Olvera, and Gelasio Olvera (Ashley). The bonds he forged with his family were unbreakable, and he took pride in every moment spent together.

Jorge graduated from high school in Houston, Texas, and became a skilled metal roofer, proudly self-employed. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his dedication and pride in everything he accomplished. Jorge was known for his adventurous spirit, believing in the philosophy of "seize the day." He lived life to the fullest, epitomizing the mantra "Just Do It!" from Nike. Whether he was spontaneously planning a trip, cycling, or enjoying a day at the shooting range, Jorge approached life with enthusiasm and passion.

His interests were as dynamic as his personality; one month he might be interested in the latest fashion, especially shoes, and the next, he would immerse himself in the thrill of traveling to new places. Jorge had a unique ability to find joy in the simplest of moments, and he cherished every opportunity to experience life with his loved ones.

Jorge's funeral will be held on January 11, 2025, at Iglesia Bautista Tabernaculo (Mayfield Baptist Church), located at 271 Mayfield Dr, Smyrna, TN 37167. Visitation will be from 2:00PM to 3:00PM with a funeral service starting at 3:00PM. Due to inclement weather, burial at Mapleview Cemetery in Smryna will be at 1:30pm on Monday January 13, 2025.  We welcome all who knew and loved Jorge to join us in celebrating his remarkable life and the lasting impact he made on those around him.

His infectious spirit and unwavering love will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us to cherish each moment and live boldly. Con profundo pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de Jorge Iván Rodríguez, un amado esposo, padre, abuelo, hermano, hijo y amigo, quien nos dejó el 1 de enero de 2025, a la edad de 50 años. Jorge nació el 23 de abril de 1974 en San Luis, Potosí, México, y pasó una vida vibrante llena de aventuras, risas y amor. Residió en La Vergne, Tennessee, donde construyó un cálido hogar lleno de preciados recuerdos.

A Jorge le sobreviven su devota esposa, Serina Rodríguez, casada el 28 de febrero de 2013; hijas Citlalic Rodríguez, Ava Rodríguez, Lesly Martínez; su hijo Brandon Arriaga; hijastros Michael Swinton, Adrianne Bowden (Alyssa Bowden), y una gran cantidad de queridos familiares y amigos en los Estados Unidos y en México. También fue el orgulloso abuelo de Denver Rodríguez, quien le trajo una alegría inconmensurable.

Jorge fue un hermano protector para su hermana Martha Olvera y sus hermanos: Javier Olvera (Joanne), Issac Olvera y Gelasio Olvera (Ashley). Los lazos que forjó con su familia eran inquebrantables y se enorgullecía de cada momento que pasaban juntos.

Jorge se graduó de la escuela secundaria en Houston, Texas, y se convirtió en un hábil techador de metales, orgullosamente autónomo. Su trabajo no era solo un trabajo; Fue un testimonio de su dedicación y orgullo por todo lo que logró. Jorge era conocido por su espíritu aventurero, creyendo en la filosofía de "aprovechar el día". Vivió la vida al máximo, personificando el mantra "¡Simplemente hazlo!" de Nike. Ya sea que estuviera planeando espontáneamente un viaje, montando en bicicleta o disfrutando de un día en el campo de tiro, Jorge abordó la vida con entusiasmo y pasión.

Sus intereses eran tan dinámicos como su personalidad; Un mes podía interesarse por la última moda, especialmente los zapatos, y al siguiente, se sumergía en la emoción de viajar a nuevos lugares. Jorge tenía una habilidad única para encontrar alegría en los momentos más simples, y apreciaba cada oportunidad de experimentar la vida con sus seres queridos.

El funeral de Jorge se llevará a cabo el 11 de enero de 2025 en la Iglesia Bautista Tabernáculo, ubicada en 271 Mayfield Dr, Smyrna, TN 37167. El velorio será de 2:00 p.m. a 3:00 p.m. con un servicio funerario a partir de las 3:00 p.m. Debido al mal tiempo, el entierro en el cementerio Mapleview en Smryna será a la 1:30 p.m. del lunes 13 de enero de 2025.  Damos la bienvenida a todos los que conocieron y amaron a Jorge a unirse a nosotros para celebrar su extraordinaria vida y el impacto duradero que tuvo en quienes lo rodeaban.

En el corazón de todos los que lo conocieron, Jorge deja un legado de amor, risas y un recordatorio para abrazar plenamente las aventuras de la vida. Su espíritu contagioso y su amor inquebrantable permanecerán para siempre en nuestros corazones, guiándonos a apreciar cada momento y vivir con valentía.
