Judy
Flescher
March 16, 1946 – May 18, 2025
Judy Flescher
May 18, 2025 at the age of 79.
Judy was born in Detroit Michigan to Robert and Lucille Gerrard on March 16, 1946. She attended the LaSalle Catholic school growing up and later went on to further her studies in art., earned a degree as a diocese, and later became a certified aesthetician while living in Florida, where she started her own business. As health problems arose they were forced to relocate for cutting edge treatment that was only offered at Vanderbelt. Soon she had a crazy idea to start a linus Project at their local church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at at the Fellowship United Methodist Church. where she founded the linus chapter. The fellowship United Methodist Church allowed her to work at the church in one of the rooms and soon her vision became a reality. She started teaching women how to quilt and soon they would be sewing as many as 200 quilts in just one year. Every quilt made was donated to Vanderbilt Children's Cancer Unit at Vanderbelt Hospital for the children. Her goal was for each child diagnosed with cancer to get a full size twin quilt and that each quilt be prayed over before ever donated. She wanted the kids to know that they were not forgotten, and she was often reminded that the gift didn't stop there when parents would lose their children. They would take that blanket that their kids adored and find comfort in it after they're sad and untimely passing.
She has survived by the love of her life Wallace Edwin Flesher, who blessed the marriage with three beautiful Daughters, Donna Bialecki (Raymond), Debbie Westerman (Kurt), and Danielle Klein Bolin (Ed Ed Bolin), Grandchildren Joseph, David, Steven, and Brittany, Great Grandchildren; Jake, Casey, Henry, and Flynn. She is also survived by her Sister Kay Maaske (Dave), Nieces Lynn Gee (Gerardo), Ruth, Kristen, Laura Gerrard (Christopher Slotte), Nephew Paul, and Great Nephew, Jon Slotte, Sam Gee, and Great Niece Mari-Lynn Hebert
She was proceeded in death by her Father, Robert Gerrard , Mother Lucille, Whitcraft Gerrard, Brother Leonard Gerrard, and Sister Jeanine Gerrard.
A celebration of her life will be held on May 31st at 3:00 PM at the Fellowship United Methodist Church at 2511 New Salem Highway in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, with a potluck to follow. The family requests that you bring your favorite memory and your favorite dish and join them to celebrate the life of a great woman.
