Lewis Howell Rolin, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on October 17, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on May 6, 1958, in Nashville, Tennessee, Lewis was the son of Howard Pink Rolin Jr. and Edna Altorean Rolin. He was preceded in death by his father, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever resonate with those who knew him.
Lewis is survived by his devoted mother, Edna Altorean Rolin, and his three daughters: Racheal Rolin, Denise Rolin, and Leigha Rolin. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to five wonderful grandchildren: James Hurtch II, Jeremiah Hurtch, Ezra Porter, Ayla Weimer, and Austin Rolin. Each of them held a special place in his heart and brought him joy that only a grandparent could know. In addition to his immediate family, he is also survived by his loving sister, Deborah Lannom (Mark), and brothers, Dennis Rolin (Lisa) and Charlie Rolin (Gail), along with many more beloved family members and friends.
Lewis was known for his large sense of humor; he could light up a room with his laughter and had a unique ability to bring joy to those around him. His love of animals was evident throughout his life, and it was as though they were drawn to him in a way that mirrored the affection he held for them. His compassion for animals was just one of the many facets of his loving personality.
As a member of the Pro Disc Golf Association, Lewis had a passion for playing disc golf, a hobby that allowed him to connect with nature and spend time with friends and fellow enthusiasts. He also had a profound love for music and played the guitar, often sharing his eclectic taste in music with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held in remembrance of Lewis on October 28, 2025. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM. Funeral Service will be from 7 PM to 8 PM. The family invites those who knew and loved him to join them at All Saints Episcopal Church at 1401 Lee Victory Parkway, Smyrna, TN 37167 to honor his memory in their own special ways, cherishing the moments shared and the laughter that filled their lives.
Lewis Howell Rolin will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, humor, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. Rest in peace, dear Lewis; your spirit will forever be a guiding light to your family and friends.
