Luz Merida Rivera Pagan passed away  December 7, 2022.  She was born May 17, 1946 in Puerto Rico.

Luz or Lucy as she was known by her loved ones possessed a strong will and a sharp tongue known for speaking her mind and standing firm.  She grew up as the only girl among six brothers.  She had to be tough and develop a colorful way of speaking.   Lucy spent many years working for the Chicago Transit Authority as a driver where she retired as a line trainer.   Lucy  had a love for Chihuahuas having cared for many over the years.

Lucy was preceded in death by her late husband Juan Aquino; father, Joaquin Rivera; mother, Carmen Rivera;  brothers, Joe Rivera, Jose Rivera, Leonardo Rivera, Anthony Rivera; daughter, Doris Ocasio.

She was survived by brothers, Reinaldo Rivera, Ariel Rivera; children, Juan Ramon Ocasio Jr, Evelyn Ocasio, Susan Mercado, Richerd Ocasio (wife JoAnne), Steven Ocasio (wife Glenda); grandchildren, Jose Miranda, Priscilla Williams, Vanessa Schrotenboer, Odessa Ruiz, Elizabeth Marin, Jennifer Zerfas, Stephanie Marin, Jolita Rodriguez, Kelseigh Ocasio; and 33 great grandchildren.
