Mary Ellen Jackson died peacefully on the morning of April 8, 2023. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 22, 1946 to Andy Gibson and Sibyl Gibson. Her parents predeceased her. She is survived by her son, Andrew M. Harrison (Ronda) and her two beloved grandchildren, Madeline and Jasper. She is also survived by her brother, Andrew B. Gibson, Jr. (Patricia) and cousins Sarah Guthrie and Mary Litchford. She is also survived by her best friend and cousin, Beckie Gibson along with her daughter, Mary Margret Gibson. Mary Ellen was a graduate of Peabody College and a faithful employee of the Metro Water Department. She loved her colleagues at Metro Water. The family especially wants to thank John and Laurie Kennedy for their wonderful friendship and acts of kindness to Mary Ellen. The family would also like to thank the staff at Bethany Rehabilitation Center for their loving care over the past several months while Mary Ellen was confined there as a result of her illness. Also thank you to Gentiva Hospice who cared for Mary Ellen over the past few days of her life. The family will have a private gathering remembering the life of Mary Ellen. Mary Ellen will be greatly missed by everyone that had the opportunity to be blessed by her life.
