Raymond Elder
Iii
July 1, 1958 – January 7, 2026
Raymond Elder the 3rd, age 67, passed away on January 7, 2026, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Raymond was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, where he developed the values and interests that shaped his life. A welder by trade, Raymond learned his craft through diligent mentorship alongside his father, working on Heavy Duty Furnaces at the E.K. Campbell company. From there, he was able to use these skills as he spent the remainder of his career working at Tropicana Juice Company in Bradenton, Florida. Only in his twenties, he took great pride in skilled, hands-on work and flourished as a jack of all trades. For a period of time, Raymond also shared his knowledge as a welding instructor, helping train and mentor others in a craft he respected deeply. He remained with the company until retirement in 2015.
Outside of work, Raymond had a lifelong love of football and was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan. He enjoyed playing softball, riding his motorcycle, and spending time around automotive projects, always appreciating the mechanics and craftsmanship behind them, such that he was always ready to imbue knowledge upon those who wished to learn. This interest sparked his daughter's love for mechanics, which translated into her navy career. He was also an avid firearm enthusiast, an interest he approached with knowledge and enthusiasm.
Raymond is survived by his children, Courtney Yablonski, Victoria Elder, and Eric Elder; and by his three grandchildren, Nicholas Didas, Jensen Elder, and Alexandria Yablonski, who brought him great pride. He is also survived by his father, Raymond Shepherd Elder Jr; and his step mother, Nancy Elder, his brothers Joey Elder; and Michael Galate and sisters, Janell Dickerson; and Lynda Galate Churchill.
He was preceded in death by his mother Joanne Galate, his step father Anthony Galate and his sister, Alexis Davis. Raymond's many family and friends will always cherish the memories that they shared with him.
A celebration of his life will be held at future time and date. Raymond will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his passions, and the love he had for his family
