Robert Dennis Findley, "Bob" to his friends and family, passed away on July 3rd at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville surrounded by his wife and son. He was eighty-two years old.

Bob was born in Vicksburg, MS in August of 1940, the third child of John and Lena Findley.  The family moved to Jackson, MS where he attended Central High School, graduating in 1958.   Bob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, eventually rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, he attended Ole Miss and majored in literature before settling on a career in law. He attended Jackson School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate.

Bob worked as an attorney for the city of Jackson and later served as a prosecutor with the State Attorney General.  His career in law also included work at the Federal Land Banks, the FDIC, and numerous other banking institutions in Texas and in Georgia.  In 2013 Bob and Gayle settled in Gallatin, TN to be closer to their family.

Gayle and Bob met in 1968 and married in March of 1969.  They were married fifty-three years and had one child together, Chris.  Until illness prevented him, he was active in his Church having served as a vestry (board) member, a lay-reader, and teacher in several Episcopal and later, Anglican congregations.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He enjoyed a good laugh and was always ready to offer advice or help to any who would ask.

Bob is survived by his wife Gayle (Gresham) Findley of Gallatin, their son Chris Findley and his wife Sheryl of Smyrna, and three grandchildren, Aidan, Evan, and Caelyn.  Funeral arrangements are forthcoming. Services will be held at St. Patrick's Anglican Church, 7103 Baker Rd, Murfreesboro, TN.
