Smith Ii
July 14, 1969 – December 2, 2024
Robert Lee Smith, II was born on July 14, 1969 and departed this life on December 2, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lovie Smith Gant, grandparents, Elder George and Anna Dotson, and nephew, Patrick Brown, Jr.
At an early age "Robert Lee", as he was affectionately called, professed his belief in Jesus Christ and was baptized. At his untimely death, he was a member of Judah Temple of Praise Ministries under the pastorate of Bishop, Dr. Kelvin L. Leavy, Sr.
Robert attended Metro Nashville Public Schools and in 1987 he graduated from Whites Creek Comprehensive High School. He developed a love for playing the drums at an early age. He played for Bass Street Missionary Baptist Church and also First Baptist South Inglewood Church, as well as other churches in and around the city of Nashville.
Robert was well known for singing throughout the city as an original member of The Inspirational Ensemble (IE). He loved to laugh, joke around, and he possessed a smile that lit up the room. Robert will be greatly missed by all those who have been touched by his life.
