Robert Lee Young, 68 was born in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee on October 1,1953. He was the son of the late Ray Biffle Young Sr. and Amanda Luvenia Johnson Young.

He passed peacefully at a loved ones home in Smyrna, TN on Monday, December, 13, 2021.

He was baptized at St. James United Primitive Baptist Church as a teen. On March 31, 1979 he married Veronica Young and they were blessed with two children.

Robert graduated from Mount Pleasant Highschool in 1971 and went on to become an apprentice at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 429. He graduated to Journeyman in June of 1974. He worked for the union until he retired early in 2017 at age 64 due to illness.

After fighting cancer for 4 years, Robert decided to transition into hospice care where he was cared for by his wife and son.

He was preceded in death by brothers: Ray B. Young, Jr., James H. Young, and Moses D. Young; Sister: Mary Cooper. Brother-in-Law James Shelton

Survived by wife: Veronica Young; children: Robert A. Young, Vanessa (Barron) Russell; grandchildren: Isaiah Lee Russell, Jael Marie Russell; brother: William Young; sisters: Arnita Shelton, Joyce (William) Frierson, Venus Cooper, Alice (Seth) Tidwell and a host of nieces and nephews.
