Susan Diane Palmer passed away October, 31, 2022.  She was born in Peoria, IL September 1, 1947 to Walter and Harriett Palmer.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Walter Palmer, mother, Harriett Palmer, and brother, John G. Palmer.

She is survived by her daughter Amy Thompson (John), grandchildren Benjamin Smith (Washington, IL), Tanner Smith (La Vergne, TN), Alexa Thompson (Milwaukee, WI), brother Randall Palmer (JoAnne), sister, Linda Washburn (Jim), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Susan enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs and was an avid fan.

After retirement from Peoria County, IL Jail as a corrections officer, Susan worked as a lunch monitor at John L. Hensey Elementary School in Washington, IL.  Susan enjoyed being a substitute mom to staff and grandma to the kids.  She was a guiding light providing direction, warmth and love and truly enjoyed every moment of this calling.

Susan loved her family both fiercely and unconditionally attending many family activities such as band concerts, competitions, and sporting events.  Family was her bedrock and center of her universe.
