Terry Len
Hicks
July 4, 1947 – April 16, 2023
Terry Len Hicks, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Christiana,
Tennessee on April 16, 2023. He was born in Lima, Ohio, on July 4, 1947, to
the late Cecilia LaFontaine Pursley and Aaron Hicks.
Terry was a graduate of Cory-Rawson High School, Rawson Ohio, in 1966.
Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and married the late
Rochelle Spencer. She accompanied him to his most notable duty station in
Yokosuka, Japan. He served as a hospital corpsman, specializing as a surgical
assistant and was honorably discharged on May 20, 1970.
After the navy, Terry was employed by St. Rita's hospital in Lima, Ohio as
well as Benham Corporation in LaVergne, Tennessee. For 22 years, Terry
was an employee of the Nissan Corporation in Smyrna, Tennessee and
retired on April 30, 2007. Upon retirement, he kept busy working for AutoZone and O'Reilly Auto Parts.
Terry was an avid fisherman. His best days were spent in a boat on a lake with his beloved dog, Molly.
His love of fishing lead him to fishing competitively at one time. He also had numerous other interests
including hunting, bird watching, collecting coins, reading, and watching his favorite baseball team, the
Cincinnati Reds.
Terry is survived by his son, Troy (Tonya) Hicks, his daughter, Amber Hicks, his two dear granddaughters
Emilyn and Tenneson, and his brother Aaron Donovan (Christine) Hicks. Terry was preceded in death by
his brothers Thomas Hicks and Douglas Hicks.
Terry will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will always hold a place in our hearts. To honor
Terry's memory, there will be a celebration of life on May 21, 2023, at Christian Life Church, 745 Cason
Lane, Murfreesboro, Tennessee at 2:00 pm. Visitation with the family at 1:00 pm. All who knew Terry
are invited to remember and celebrate his life.
