Torrye Jemile
Watson-Pamplin Jr
October 19, 1997 – September 23, 2022
Torrye Watson-Pamplin, Jr. was born on October 19, 1997 to the parentage of Desmond and Torrye Watson Pamplin. He was the second son of three, which gave him the honor of being a younger brother and an older brother which he did both admirably. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Clarence Lee Atkins, Leon Watson and William Black.
He graduated from Tri Cities High School magnet program for music in 2016 with honors. Went on to Tennessee State University on a full scholarship and studied political science. He was inducted in the National Honor Society. His desire was to become a lawyer and serve his people. While there he made the dean's list. He loved playing his trumpet and cornet, preforming and competing with the band. He loved old school music because of the musicianship. No matter what, he was a die heart NY Jets fan. He loved working out, reading, writing, video games and eating healthy.
He really loved spreading the word for the most- high, he would have in-depth conversation about the Bible. He followed the Hebrew-Israelite tradition and was a fully recognized brother from the tribe of Judah.
When he became a father, his life changed. Matai was everything to him. He worked 3 jobs to provide for his son and recently was able to find a position with FedEx, which allowed him to work at night and take care of his son during the day. He was a part time vegetarian because every now and then he couldn't resist Chick-fil-A. Everyone who interacted with him loved and respected him. As a family we are proud of the man he became and as his parents we're thankful to God for sharing his servant with us. He is gone too soon but will be remembered by all.
Torrye is survived by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Desmond Pamplin, Sr.; brothers. Desmond Jr. & Trévon; son Mataí, niece Tavia; grandmothers, Andrea Pamplin & Brenda Watson; aunt Stefonia Atkins and a host of great Aunts, and great Uncles; three great-great Aunts, one great-great Uncle, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Message of Love and Hope To the family from the poet "Helen Steiner Rice"
"May tender memories soften your grief,
May fond recollections bring you relief,
And may you find comfort and peace in the thought
Of the joy that knowing your loved one brought…
For time and space can never divide,
Or keep your loved one from your side.
When memory paints in colors true,
The happy hours that belonged to you."
